I would like to transfer photos from my laptop to my main computer without using a disk... wanted to do it through connecting the computers... im a bit tech challenged... i connected them by usb cable, but dont know how to get them to recognize each other, or if that is possible with such a setup... any techie out there with an answer???

What operating system are the computers running? If xp there's a file transfer wizard. You connect the computers using a network cable.

The most useful thing you could by is a USB pen-drive. A 512Mb one should be cheap and Oh so handy for this sort of thing.

I've never done it. but a quick google search yielded THIS on the Microsoft website.

It describes what cpanaioti said to do if you have XP.
