Lately my virus scanner has been shutting down automatically without my knowing leaving me susceptible to viruses. I just did a complete scan and i have 34 I/O errors. I know that this is some sort of registry error. Can anyone help me get this sorted out?
I probably need a walk through as to how to deal with it, or send me to a website that will help. Thanks in advance.

What virus scan program are you using?

Bull Guard (and let me add it has always worked great for me) I think the reason its shutting off is because of the I/O errors.

Do you have any more details on what sort of I/O errors it's giving you? You could also try using a different virus scan. AVG Free works great for me.

Try using RegClean from download.com. It works great for registry cleaning. |

Hmmm didn't do a back up. Probably should have. But I ran the RegClean program and I had some major issues. All seems fine at the moment, booted up clean and is running swifter. |
