You may not think know me, but you do - as "kiwipix". I have asked for my username to be changed and it happened today. I am in mourning for my old persona, I found it's a really big deal to ditch it :(
The reason for the change is that I'm about to be published in D-Photo, New Zealand's largest photographic magazine's August issue. It will be a full page feature called "D-Showcase". It's as a result of this image (theme A Child) that I submitted through my local photographic society
After I joined DPC with kiwipix, I discovered there is a photographic company in New Zealand actually trading under that name. In the full page article and bio, I wanted to be able to use //{myusername}.dpchallenge.com/. Kiwipix looked like it could get me into trouble.
In fairness to them and to avoid litigation, it made sense to make the change now to a name not used and which I could register as a domain. Hopefully it won't take long for people to get used to me in my new clothes.
