My Pi entry has 4 comments right now, each one very positive. Two of them actually indicate the score given--a 9 and a 7. My average score right now? 4.8. This is by far my most creative submission yet, and it isn't doing much better than the somewhat crappy submission I made for the symmetry challenge. I just don't get the voting. Please, people, comment if you vote low, too!

Hey StevePax. I'm in the middle of starting a new discussion that states the same thing. My Symmetry pic had tons of good comments but did poorly. 119th Place to be exact. I don't get it either.

I think people just have a hard time putting into words why they *don't* like something. Would you feel better if you received comments saying *I just don't like this*? I've voted on several pictures that I just don't like but haven't left comments because I don't think it helps the person for me to just say that without having any specific suggestions for improvement.

I think that with the Pi challenge, you (and I!) are getting lots of very low votes from people who have forgotten their geometry and don't think that the image has anything to do with Pi! We can pretend that the high scores are from people who are smart and know better!

Exactly!! I agree with you 100%. I just don't think leaving a comment saying that I don't like it is constructive.

I agree too, unless you can pinpoint a particular problem like being out of focus or maybe something should have been cropped differently. What good is a negative comment going to do except to upset the person receiving it!
