Just thought I would start posting some of my poetic thoughts and my twisted wisdom. Many will hopefully inspire some ideas for photos, since much of my poems and thoughts are generated by a photo. Anybody who wants to add to it, all are welcome. Lets see some creative ways of expressing ourselves through quips, quotes or poems. Here is mine for today.

Joy - Joy eludes those who are blind to what surrounds them. If you see a flower, you think it might be pretty, and then you wonder at the prettier flower which grows in another country.

Love can be beautiful, a white aura of perfect light. It is an emotion which has many colors, though. If its beauty hides behind a mesh of daily existance many believe love has left them and life becomes unkind. Sorrow, rejection, sacrifice, compromise, they are some of its colors and the price one pays for knowing the goodness of love and its truth.

Dedicated to all the photographers who love to photograph the sky. This one was very much generated by a sky that looked like it had been raked. Never took a picture of it, but I wrote a poem. If you are motivated, post your sky images with this poem, and let us see the different textures and beauty the sky holds for us.

SKY MOODS

Gallop through the stormy surf-
Stars of Sparks,
Hoof striking the clouds.
Neigh the wondering thunderclap
Through flaring breath,
Met beyond the undertow.
Pass into a quiet peace--
The sky raked smooth,
To graze in silent leas of light.

Dedicated to all of us "poor" photographers who let popular sentiment guide our actions.

Self pity is an addiction. It sickens your heart and spirit and practical matters turn into despair. Do not value yourself on empty standards such as appearance, wealth and power. Those become like a mountain that shall never be anything more than a rock on the earth.

I know it's not what you had in mind but this is my favorite movie quote and it always makes me laugh...

Marilyn Monroe from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

"Don't you know that a man being rich is like a girl being pretty? You wouldn't marry a girl just because she's pretty, but my goodness, doesn't it help?"

"And if you had a daughter, wouldn't you rather she didn’t marry a poor man? You'd want her to have the most wonderful things in the world and to be very happy. Oh, why is it wrong for me to have those things?"

Guess I killed this one. Sorry.

No you didn't kill this at all. I want to meet others who just like to think weird and strange thoughts, or share some sort of twisted wisdom. It is perfectly fine to post whatever, and funny is always welcome. I never have enough funny in my life.

Imagine we chose lovers.
O yes we do
but like the wild strawberry
pimpernel by the pathway,
we chose the path
we chose to look
and we chose to taste,
but the real choice
does not come before the aftertaste.
Was that a lover?

A gardener seeks affirmation from other gardeners that their garden is beautiful yet they suspect the words are only courtesies and the affirmation is powerless.
Look to the birds, the bees, the butterflies, and all the creatures great and small for your affirmation. It is not aesthetics that are treasured by God's creatures, but life giving ability and the hues which are invisible to the human eye.
God does not see as humans see, and we are given many other affirmations beyond our human limits. We simply do not recognize them.
