a few weeks ago someone asked if there was any age limit to the workshop, the one who asked was a minor but wanted to join us, he was told that the agelimit was 18yrs because of the nude session.
now it seems that Joey is joining the GTG even though he's only 16yrs old.
don't get me wrong, I'd love to meet Joey, but if there is an age limit it should apply to everyone, not just the bad photographers ;)
he could at least sit throug the glamour session and take a walk during the nude session ;)

I swear by German beer. Heineken is crap, most English stuff is something to wash the gutter with, American beer has no taste, but German stuff is good. Not to sweet, not to bitter and you don't get a headache from it (at least I don't).
But Gary has good Vodka too, I'll take Vodka over beer. :)

You are quite wrong if you are implying we are discriminating between different quality levels of photographers. We have been discussing the question of an age limit since the question was brought up in this thread and have reached an alternative solution. |

So do I. Ask Kiwiness. We met a couple of months ago & I only drank 3 & a bit glasses. I woke up the next morning feeling pretty rotten. Had to postpone my work start time by 3 hours.
By the way the picture of Gary in his profile was with one of the glasses.

Foto Konijnenberg in Den Ham, Holland.
Canon EF 400/2.8 L USM IS EUR 6999,00 in stock
Canon EF 500/4.0 L USM IS EUR 5899,00 on order
Both prices include 19% VAT.

If you want to order it is wise to make a reservation for that lens.

those aren't exactly cheap... テ「つャ2000 more than at BHphotovideo.com.
for those テ「つャ2000 I can get a week trip to NewYork with everything included and still get the lens ;)
I'm hoping to find it for about テ「つャ5000 or close to that, used is ok, if in perfect condition.

You did take into account that the shops Gary and me listed include sales tax and bhphotovideo doesn't? Germany has 15% sales tax I believe and Holland 19%.
But indeed, European shops generally suck with their prices compared to the US, even without the sales tax. :( And Konijnenberg usually is pretty sharp. Got my 70-200 there 600 euro cheaper than anywhere else and it isn't even an imported one.

No problem, I'll open a few bottles and put them out into the 30 degree sun for a few days before you come so you'll be right in your element :) |

Sorry about the boring details, but yer decent 'real ale' should be pumped up from a cellar at 10 degrees (50f). As the barrel still contains 'live' yeast and is very carefully sealed with a porous plug (go figure), then the beer will not be flat but will contain carbon dioxide from the brewing process. It's not as fizzy as Coke, but it should be somewhere between Champagne and viテδアo verde (these also retain CO2 from fermentation). Not a lot of people know that.
German beer is dynamite - one of the few occasions I've seen triple. |

You'd have to ask the shop, cannot say that for sure.

I could refill a couple of bottles. The difference between warm English beer and p*ss is not that big. :)

Sigh! What raish said is correct although it has to be said that there are some longer brewed real ales that allow the natural "fizz" to slowly die away.
As to all of this rubbish about German beer versus English beer, I will refrain from comment as I am told on good authority that Belgium beer is probably the best beer in the world anyhow. The authority here is the Financial Director of the Hoegaarden brewery, who very kindly introduced me to the delights of his company's blanche beer, explaining that the natural cloudiness contains enough B vitamins to ensure that you do not suffer from a hangover the next day. Having tried to disprove his theory several times, I decided he may be right after all.
So there we have it. Germany will probably win the world cup, England have lost the one day (cricket) series to Sri Lanka and Belgium make the best beer in the world. No arguing with that. Dons flack jacket and body armour just in case there is.
Carl
PS: Azrifel, I feel I must re-educate your taste-buds so I will see if I can find some good examples of English beer that will ensure you lose your misguided preconceptions. No point in trying this with kiwiness as he is a kiwi - nuff said really.

Need some help here from our Dutch friends :-)
I decided to change my route to the GTG at the last minute, taking the overnight ferry from Harwich to the Hook. This means that I will be on land early morning on Thursday July 13. Clearly, I could drive straight to Munster but I wondered if there are any interesting diversions I should contemplate en route?
I have been thinking about driving to Lieden from the Hook as it appears that this is tied into Rembrandt and the 400 year celebrations of the great master. It is not that far and would seem to offer quite a few things to look at and enjoy before taking on the drive to Munster, probably in the afternoon.
But are there any better suggestions?
Apologies if this is seen as lazy but I figure that local knowledge is worth a lot more than tourist books at this point :-)
