I need a small (greeting card type) poem regarding photography.
Here's the scenerio. My brother-in-laws 80 yr old father is getting married Saturday. Nothing big and formal, church and a dinner afterwards. Only their children and a small extended family (such as myself) is invited.
They don't want a 'fuss'...I offered to take pictures for them but they said they 'didn't want to spend money on a photographer'. I told them no cost....and they said "we're 80! We don't need all those 'wedding shots'.
I was the photographer for the grooms daughters wedding last year and my brother-in-law has hinted at whether I was bringing my camera.
So, duh...I will be the very unofficial photog...
So, I would like to write a short poem for the gift card. Something along the lines of : my gift____ I will capture this joyful day ____- yada yada yada....
I figure I will shoot off some shots (non-formal and non-inconvenient) and at least find a couple to blow up and give to them framed as a gift.
Any clever ideas? |

My gift to you is to stop time and square it,
to capture a vanishing moment and share it.
My gift to you is to rejoice in your day,
to develop that joy into pictures that stay
in our hearts and our thoughts and our sight,
long after this day turns to night.
by me
-sorry if this is a night wedding.... :) |

The posthumously-written poem is great. ;-)

here's greetingcardish up the wazoo (no offense, Wazoo):
There comes a time when 'things' are not the goal.
The feeling and solidity of hands
upon your hands are what will guide your plans.
Companionship, the champion of your soul.
There's no thing that you need, except this day
where love is plentiful, and warm, and deep.
These pictures are my gift for you to keep,
reminding you of love that's here to stay. |

I (thought)have replied to this twice but it keeps disappearing...so lets try again!
Thank you Posthumous and meanwile!!!! You are both very talented. I envy such talents,
I can't rhyme...maybe I don't take the time...hehehehhehe (see I told you)
Anyways at this point I think Posthumous's is what I was looking for. I have retained both and will get other opinions in the house.
I will credit on the card!!
THANK you for your time and effort!

Just saw this. Yes, Post's a very decent poet. Looks like I'm not needed on this one :-)
Felicitations to the brave newlyweds :-)
