I've been toying with the idea of buying Nikons right angle viewfinder adapter.

Does anyone here own it and use it? I know of a zig view electronic viewfinder, but I hate electronic viewfinders, so I'm not going that road! My intended applications are pretty straight forward: shooting low angles more easily, and getting close range candids. I find that holding a camera up at face height versus chest height can make a big difference when it comes to people freaking out over having your lens aimed at them. The way I see it, I'm hopeful that people will just think I'm looking at my LCD and not taking any pictures. Thanks for any input!

got it las winter - love it
though i use it most for macros & table top stuff
Much better than sticking your head on the ground
i've toyed with the idea for crowd shots but haven't done any

How far above the camera does it rise? I have a feeling it looks like a snorkle rising about 1 or 2 inches above the camera. Is the viewer larger than that on the camera or the same size?

about 1.5 inches higher from landscape
about -0.5 from righthand portrait
about +.75 from lefthand portrait
(ya it turns .. which makes it cooler ...) |

wow! thats cool it turns. I'm thinking about getting this now, my only hesitation is that if I upgrade to a D2X, I cant switch hit and use it on both... oh well, maybe thats a small price to pay.
