I would like to have a section (like the workshop) where I can park pictures for friends to see, but only if they know the direct link.
In other words, my "portfolio" should only be the better public pictures I have, but other more private pictures should have a separate section.
I bought one year of 1 GB space, and if I fill up portfolio with 800x600 95% JPEG pictures of lesser meaning to the general public, it will over saturate my "public pics". So "View this users portfolio" should not show private pics.
Hard to put exact words on, hope you understand what I mean:
Separate picture area for private pics, other than workshop

It's been a while since I had a portfolio, but I believe any folder can be hidden. Make one, name it 'private' and hide it. :)

But then, no-one can see it, even with a direct link - or what? If I could link to it directly (without people having to log into my account to see it), then it is juuuust perfect ...

workshop is hidden but with a direct link you can get there.
same works for other folders that you hide yourself.
This folder is hidden: can you get there?

Yes.
Edited to say that I guess you're showing and not asking. Oops. :)

hehe
Just showing that it can be done. The trick to getting the right link though is to:
1) go to an image in the hidden collection,
2) grab that link,
3) log out,
4) go to the image link,
5) click on the folder name to get the public link to the collection. |

Way too much work. ;) Open the folder, click on the link on the lefthand side that says "browse collection." Copy url. |

Simplified, of course.
My list of folders is way too long. I almost have to scroll to get to the link.
