I was looking at the different challenges and noticed there are currently four basic challenges and two advance challenges. Why is there always more basic vs advance challenge? I would think the paying members should get more opportunity to submit to a challenge over non-paying members.
Yes, a paying member can enter a basic challenge but that challenge is much different from the advanced ones. Just an observation and thinking out loud |

At any one time are typically two open challenges, of which only one can be entered by any one individual, and one members only challenge. So members can enter twice as many challenges at a time. The members challenges are almost always advanced editing rules and the open challenges are usually basic editing rules. If you care more about making the shot than postprocessing, the open challenges make more sense even as a member.
I've read that the reason there are two open challenges now is that the number of entries got too large to be reasonably managed, so it was split into two separate challenges. |

Right. And that's why they are exclusive, that is, you can enter one open only of the two open challenges.
Members can enter the members (advanced editing) challenges and 1 open (basic editing) challenge per week.
