Sure, do it! I myself never touch alcohol, I'm a milk drinker :)

I heard Pedro enjoys a glass of wine or ten though!

I have a vague memory of a phone call that begs to differ with the milk comment.

jus' sayin.

Ah! I get it! Nikon D200 guys only drink "milk" - or is that ambrosia, the nectar of the gods, sometimes manifesting itself as beer and wine? Seems like you acquire a positively classical streak with a D200.

I can't wait for it to start. But I don't know what I am looking forward to more: the workshop or the afterparty. :)

Same here - although I am not sure I can choose between the workparty or the aftershop - or am I confused again?

When work and play combine - so much more fun!

Fun? Fun? I have bad dreams already for a week now.
And I was looking true my older photo's to show some of them in the presentation and I am soooo embarrassed!

Why did I ever agree to this... Aaaarggghhhh ;)

Hopefully, by Monday or Tuesday..I'll have my vacation plans settled and then I'll be able to give you a definite answer.

I could also use some info on where to stay, how to get there and all that jazz...

Since it's only a two day event I might wanna hit Paris...London...Amsterdam or Barcelona right after. Looks like I have a lot of thinking to do.

I'm almost 100% sure to be there....just need to line up the airfare and hotel.

The Hotel(STADTHOTEL MÜNSTER) that was recommended has a website where the English version doesn't seem to work on my computer in fact, their whole site's kinda messed up so I need to call them up.

After the workshop...will anybody be traveling to a cool location by car where I can get a lift??? I'm certain I'll hit London at some point and may even fly back to the States from there but in between...I'm game for anything.

I will be driving around Germany and maby some other countries for 5 days after the GTG, nothing planned, I only have to be in Frankfurt on thursday 20th for my flight back :)

plenty room for those willing to pay their part in the gas, and by that get a vote on where to go :)

RE: Hotel

Noticed the same, I also thinking of calling them. Anyone know if this hotel is any good and if it's close?
I also found Hotel Europa Münster which looks OK, not sure which on to book. Any tips?

The hotel can also be booked via the English part of muenster.de:

Hotel reservations trough Muenster.de (English)
Stadhotel Muenster (opened the frame out of a frameset)

The Stadthotel Muenster is app 3km away from the studio (I'll be in Munster fridaymorning to help Nasti, Gary and Peter so I will know where it is). But there are enough people with cars (inc me) staying there to make arrangements to drive to the studio as a group. This will be organized before the GTG.
It is short walking distance from the city centre, useful for the Sunday.

Sometimes I am amazed at how often I take things for granted. Take the journey to Munster, for example.

I naturally assumed that doing the Dover - Calais route would be much quicker than any other. The crossing is quick - about 1h40 but there are about 700 km to drive door to door, 211 km in the UK and about 481 km from Calais to Munster. Total time about 9h00.

However, going Harwich to Hoek van Holland is a longer crossing - about 3h20 but there is only 500 km of driving, 224 km in the UK and 287 km from the ferry port to the hotel. Total time about 9h00.

Interesting dilemma but probably more interesting to go via Harwich as I can really relax on the ferry and it breaks the journey up into 3 discrete chunks, too.

Just thought it would be fun to bore you with the details of my journey planning: definitely easier to have gone by plane but actually not a lot quicker.

Carl (call me Mr Boring)

DO we need to ensure that Joey worries about good old NTSC versus PAL formats for us Europeans? I know a lot of the newer DVD players can handle both but not all of them can.

Just a thought...

I deliberately take the long route in Holland, all those highways are so boring. It is not of use to you because my route would be a huge detour for you. Watch out for the speed traps and stuff eh!? There are a lot of fixed and mobile gatso's out there and even some controls where they check your speed over a couple of kilometers. In some cases even dustbins have been used to stack a camera in them.

Damn! I forgot Holland was home of the Gatso! Anyhow, I drive a Toyota Prius so I guess I will be going for economy and not speed this time :-)

Appreciate the feedback.
