Does anyone get scared when putting up pictures to get judged?

I went insane when the opportunity to compete in a challenge arose this week. I took perfectly average looking pics and touched them up a bit and then wham.. sweaty palms, heartbeat gone wild and I couldn't do it, I couldn't enter my pics. My friends counter challenged me to put in the best 'non pic' I had to to get over this fear.

Definition: Non Pic: The Random pics you take for absolutely no reason at all. eg: When you're feeling high and you just keep on clicking.

They were sure I would take it out (Hey, I was the girl who walked out of school council nominations on the last day) but I didn't. I enjoyed the last week and the comments that nobody got my pic. I thought people would hate my pic because it was awful and not because they couldn't get it. But anyway it gave me a good bunch of laughs and the second I get my dead photoshop running I'll put my original pic up.
(Yes.. and I'm getting free pizzas for a month because I won the non-dp challenge my friends set up)

So, anyone have similar performance anxieties (No, I really don't want know you 'other' performance anxieties)?

Well done -- One challenge and already ribboned! :D Granted it's the coveted Brown ribbon, but many have tried and failed to attain that lowly goal. :)

As for the image, I like it! I don't know why everyone had such a hard time with it. To my eyes it is clearly (if I can use that word to describe this image) a young girl in mad motion endulging in the excitement and activity of life. I saw the connection to the challenge immediately, even if I didn't fully understand the abstract image. But now I fear I am guilty of seeing far more in this image than was intended to be seen -- but isn't that the nature of an abstract? We see what we are willing see, and not a single thing more.

I have some bad news for you though, the quality of this image makes your continued participation at DPC will be quite predictable. I see great improvements in your future, for where else could you go but up.

All in all, it is probably good I didn't vote -- you would have had a harder time winning your first ribbon if I had.

oh, and while your busy kicking your friends for daring you to enter it -- kick your apprehension in the teeth while your at it. There is nothing to fear but the voters ... and you've laughed at their worst. :)

Free pizza! For a month?? That's like, what, a $1,000 prize for an eighteen year old :P

Can't wait to see what you enter next time.

I'd be having pizza every night for the next 30 days just to have even more fun with your friends.
