What do you guys think? Boring and pointless?

Boring and pointless? No. It's certainly not an emotive shot, and I wouldn't hang it on my wall, but it's not bad as an abstract artistic shot. I can see it hanging somewhere as a small print with a large white mattboard around it, and a small group of people sipping champagne and intensely discussing what it might mean. :)

I'm all about simple shots. i love this. the texture of the pole is a bit weird. would be nicer if it were shiney and smooth but otherwise its fantastic.

i think it would be better if it were centered left to right OR made purposely more off-centered. i like it, though... a lot!

Nice shot. If I had to take the same shot, I would put the light left bottom corner :)

I agree. Exactly the feeling I got from the shot.

I tried the bottom left and bottom right...It didn't look good at all so I kept in centerd. Trust me, I tried though.
