If you were going to be stranded on a deserted Island (say, in the carribean), and could take your camera and ONLY 1 lens, which lens would you want?

I'd take the lens that would allow me to start a fire by focussing the rays of the sun on dry tinder.

Oh...right. In that case, I'd want the biggest and longest lens - so I can use it to store rain water :p and maybe a macro lens so I could use it to start fire :) |

Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS
Judging by stories of people dropping the sucker, it is durable. That and its weather resistant.
