OK, here's a good one for you guys.
Van Gogh -
Challenge Description: Vincent Willem van Gogh's (1853-1890) work shows the objects, people and places in his life with bold, usually distorted, draughtsmanship and visible dotted or dashed brushmarks, which are intensely yet subtly coloured. This week compose a photo inspired by the work of this post-impressionist.

It does sound a bit contradictory, but looking at his work is quite accurate. :-)

Have you seen his Room at Arles?
Everything's in pairs - they say he painted it while expecting a friend's company.
p/s: you are right about the BOKEH in starry night, ROTFLMAO!!! |

Darn it, seems like almost every time someone posts a good idea I have something related to it already done, so now I have to think up ANOTHER idea ... or worse -- try to take a better picture : )

The friend being Paul Gauguin, with whom he eventually had an argument which caused him to become self-mutilatative (hehe, neologism, I'm sure ;>)).
Van Gogh has always been my favorite painter since I was a wee lad. |

that's more like Rembrant or Velazques style, Van Gogh wasn't so accurate in his paintings :)

Your research skills are lacking or you would have simply searched this page. ;-) (the answer is no, never happened) |
