Just purchased this past February: Canon 350D Rebel XT, 18-55mm kit lens, 75-300mm EF III, battery, battery charger, 1 GB card, Canon Full Size case, lens caps for both, Promaster Spectrum7 1.7x Teleconverter, software, USB download cable....and 2 jars of my World Famous "just canned" Virginia grown " Strawberry Jam". :O) Always like to SWEETEN the pot!!
Just won a Nikon D50, and after playing with it for a while, it is much easier for me to handle...(being the "lost the 5 fingers on my left hand" wonder that I am). LOL at myself here!!!
Selling everything for $900.00, plus I will pay shipping!
Still clinging to my Olympus, tho!! She is my baby!! |

Wow Cindy! Kinda nice seeing someone not bashing the Olympus on here, and actully embracing it! So... what lens ya gunna get for it next? I got my eye on the 50-200mm:)

You and me both!!! I LOVE my Oly!! Glad to see someone else feeling the same. Lenses are so limited for this camera right now but I know there are some nice ones on the horizon!! |

I'm with the other guy... sell your Canon Package AND the D50...
You won't have 900 bucks, and you won't have 2000 bucks, but I'd bet you could swing $1350...
That would get you a Sony A100 (with the same sensor as the D200, not the D50) and Anti-Shake on all the lenses without having to pay extra for it!!!
Then you can laugh at all of us when you have 3 stops AS with your 50mm f/1.7 lens and can shoot hand-held at 1/4 second in ridiculously dark situations... |

Yeah I did...
sell both of those cameras and you can upgrade to a camera two levels up in the Nikon world...
The only thing the A100 is missing from the D200 (same sensor) is 5FPS...
However, it has some other things to make up for it....
3.5 stops of Anti-shake
VARIABLE SENSOR SENSITIVITY FOR HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE! Wow! (from what I have read so far, it's able to choose areas of the sensor and adjust their ISO so you can get a much more balanced shot WITHOUT fill flash! This promises to be revolutionary and get a following similar to the Fuji S3 Pro)
Battery saving eye detection at the viewfinder... This will help save battery by keeping the lens and AS inactive when your eye isn't at the screen... if you bring your eye up, it starts to get back in the game... Think about it... that's a good way to work the performance!
And those are things it has over the D200!
900 bucks for that lens, plus the 17-50 f/2.8 by Tamron and you are looking at 1350.
Grab the Sigma 70-300 APO that everyone is always talking about and you are doing very well.. Then pick up the 50mm f/1.7...
MAJOR upgrade over the D50.
6 MP to 10MP (with D200 standard noise reduction)
burst mode to fill the card without slowdown
A METAL lens mount!
Dial actuated selections
As good lenses but for MUCH less money
Oh PS, shop around, I've heard that 900 bucks for the body only is doable in some parts of the world. Even if you do end up paying 999, it's still fantastic... and 700 bucks cheaper than the D200... You will just have spent an extra hundred bucks for early adoption.
Oh, in case you are worried about new technology, remember that most of the bugs have already been worked out in the D200 too :) Gotta love using Nikon as a beta tester! ;)
Oh yeah, hunt, stab and steal for that 50mm f/1.7... I don't believe it's being manufactured anymore... it rocks.
