is this softer one better?
I'm going to upload a printable one to see if I can get any takers.... Dave is telling me that brightening it up with curves is producing too much noise,
What if I just do it a little, though it seems to have a lot of noise how it is where the shadows meet the skin
Help?
here's the first one I did (way too bright):

None really have any noise on my monitor. |

I still like the original.. it feels more real to me and the noise is minimal in my opinion. :)
**skin is textured and that is what makes something a StandOut piece to me. When i'm looking at it I want to see as close to reality as possible**

This is not a calibration issue, this is personal preference:
I find them too dark, I don't get to see enough detail.
Therefore, the more detail, the better (in my opinion). |

yep, I think you should stick with the original.

I like the brighter one, too. If you suggest matted prints, there should be no problems with the highlights. |

Ok, I've now uploaded the 800x640 pixels size
and yeah, I like the brighter one too, maybe not sooo bright, but with the larger size, do you see noise? or would you have to see them full size like I can?
really, I'm talking about where the shadows on the skin is on the neck and down the right side of the body, idk, will that show up in a print? I see srdanz has said matted prints won't show that? |

I also prefer the "way too bright" version, especially for a print. Remember, our computer screens emit light but prints depend on reflected light. Dark prints don't look good unless they are displayed under very bright lights. If you frame them, the reflections from the glass will compete with the image.

I like the first one better, the darker one.
The second isn't too bright, but gives too much detail to the skin making it look goose-bumpy.

Is there something wrong with the new, bigger, upload? I see resizing artefacts... is it only me? |

Not to go with the flow on this, I like the softer one. The brighter one has a glare to it that detracts from the mystery of the element. |

I think that's the noise I'm talking about....
edit to add: I'm not upsizing, I am re-down sizing from the original each time

ok, I'm going to send the originals to those who've offered to help me... but I just wanted to post my next try...
I think I did a fairly good job getting rid of the noise and blending the body shadows into the background
