Ok, NI Pro+ was working just great. Now it only comes up on the bottom left of the screen. I can't get it to restore or come up to use, the computer just beeps. Can't ven close it from it's minimized window. When I click the NI bottom banner it acts like it's going to full screen then goes to the unuseable minimized. Does both as stand-alone and thru PS CS2. Can't do anything with PS CS2 when it thinks NI is running. I suspect I have something in Windows XP screwed up. Any help?
Thanks |

First thing i would do too...reboot. Then if it does the same see if you can drag the window larger as opposed to clicking the upper right corner - I ran into that once. Not sure how it got that way but after dragging to full size it hasn't happened again. |

Rebooted. Can't drag any part of the small window locked to bottom left of screen. Can only close NI by using close from the very bottom window just right of START button.
Seems like I had this happen a long time ago with a windows program. Someone told me there was a combination of key strokes that released it and made it operate. Any Windows XP guru's out there? |

| This is only my opinion, but I think the easiest thing to do would be to reinstall the program. Other wise you could be guessing for ages. |

| Find your NI icon on your desktop. Right click on the icon and get the properties on it. There should be a list box next to Run: that is probabaly set to normal. Try setting it to maximized. Then run the program from the icon. No guarantees, but it might work. Good luck. |

Gave it a try, it's on Maximize now. I'm sure it's some kind of key stroke combination in Windows. Thanks for the tries ... keep the suggestions coming. Only seems to do it with Neat Image. AND yes re-installed NI and rebooted and set properties to Maximize. Keep helping. |

Not sure about a keystroke, but I've had some luck in the past with windows hanging off the screen by right-clicking the taskbar and selecting 'Tile windows horizontally'. You need to have NI in a non-minimized state. This will often put the window up for you to resize it or get to its controls.
Good luck. |

Are you feeling brave? - You could always try deleting the NeatImage key from the registry and reinstalling - this way you'll be sure that everything is reset to the default value.
Don't blame me if anything goes wrong though, the registry is a dangerous place... :-)
1) Uninstall NeatImage
2) Click 'Start' / 'Run...' and type regedit
3) Go to the following key; My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ABSoft\NeatImage
4) Select the 'NeatImage' branch and export it (for backup) and then delete it.
5) Re-install NeatImage

| Ok tried the taskbar suggestion no help. Registry .. not ready to give in to that yet. When NI starts the initial startup screen for it comes up in the middle of screen then drops immediately left side above START key. I've seen it before, easy fix just can't remember. Thanks to all so far ... Window Gurus keep giving me suggestions. |

It's a long shot, but try holding down CTRL while you're starting up Neat Image...

Ok, partial success! Holding Cntrl key allowed it to bring up a window that is useable ... BUT there is still the small minimized window right above the START button that just beeps when clicked on. After starting with Cntrl Key it also starts in PS CS2. I have no idea why it puts the small non-selectable window above START? Well ast least it accessable for now.
If anyone else has any further idea on how to make it work completely right let me know. I've been using it for a long long time, it just started so it's something I did somehow. |

| Mine has the small window above the start button as well - I think that's normal. |
