Posted this about an hour ago with a bad title...here goes again.

I can buy the 105mm Nikkor VR F2.8 Macro lens here in New Orleans for $899 plus tax.

I would be selling my 60mm Nikkor F2.8 in order to help pay the cost.

Will the VR make my macros a little "less blurry" for hand held shots? I have the 18-200mm VR and it is worth every penny.

The 105 will be used mainly for closeups and Macro and wanted to know if it was worth it. the review does no outright say what I can expect from the macro..do any of you currently have it?

See it here.

I want one! I am sure the VR will help with hand held macro. But sell my 60mm no I will wait till I can keep both. :-P

After checking the web and looking over my portfolio at home I decided:

...that on many of my Macro shots that "did not come out well" it seems that it wasn't "side to side" shake. It seems that I missed the Focal Point..either to the front or rear. The word is that VR will do little to help with this issue.

Agree/disagree ??

Thanks,

This is actually my favorite lens. Beautifully sharp. Wonderfully controllable. Mostly I shoot with a tripod, so I like it for reasons other than the VR, which does help handheld.

Any macro I've taken was well over 1/200th of a second anyway so VR really wouldnt' do much for me. I guess it depends on your style of shooting...

Pick one up used...worst case you just sell it for what you paid for it in a month -- my guess would be you would end up keeping it anyway.
