Well, I completed kind of a milestone on this entry. That's my third straight entry that scored over 5.0. I was kind of dissappointed in it though, I saw more potential, possibly in the high 5's but obviously some didn't agree. Oh well, maybe next time. |

Really thought I'd score better for this... perhaps the sun in the shot was not obvious enough. I had an A4 print of this and it looks better at that size... any thoughts?

Thanks for the feedback guys... I am actually kicking myself a little as I was on vacation in the UK lake district and didn't know what the challenge was until my return. I matched this landscape to the challenge... I had an alternative shot of the Kirkstone pass which is basically a 'Long and winding Road' might have scored better as the picture is more obvious (especially given the need for smaller scale display..)
Thanks for the comments... Chris

I'm very pleased with my score for this challenge, although my crop didn't go down too well with the voters A lesson learnt.

I'm actually pretty disappointed with the scoring on this challenge. I finished in the low fives and believe I got way too many 3's, and definetely too many 2's and 1's (well probably too many 10's too). But I thought it was a decent entry, especially to be a self portrait.
Most of the comments I got were good, even a bad comment or two were at least helpful, but a couple of comments that were negative weren't really on target.

I really can't complain, I would however appreciate any suggestions as to how I could have made this entry better. Several people told me to get rid of the jar, that however would have made it a DNMC.

My shot had a mediocre score, but I liked the curve. I often just get a huge pile of 5s, but this one was more spread out.
I got 25 votes of 3 or below, and 15 votes of 8 or above. I like strong reactions. :)

Interested in thoughts on my alternative shot for the challenge. In my opinion, not as strong a landscape but perhaps a better fit to challenge?
Title "The Long and Winding Road"

I gave you a high score, but thought you just missed the theme of the lyrics, with the rocks, having the same theme with a church door would have brought out my top shelf mark, the photography is great. |
