WHY?
Why this slow voting?
8 or 9 votes last 24 hours!!!
I want more votes!!!
I took another look at your pictures and bumped few up a bit again.
The rule is:
Look at them again and newer subtract from a score. Just add on if you feel you have judged to hard. And apparently I did in some cases.

You know, I haven't been keeping track, but I bet at the end, I have more 1 votes than 2 votes. I can figure out no other reason than spite voting. I know it's part of life, but still sucks when it happens.

Lots of people believe that DSLR's will always produce better results than a POS.
My shot shows that isn't always the case....

It sometimes helps to be mediocre and anonymous - I don't get very many 1 votes. Lotsa fours, though. :-)

Question for Doc - how do you like that 24-105 lens? Will it fit a full frame sensor when you upgrade?

Nobody got a "1" from me,
Infact the lowest score I gave is a lot higher. In my opinion there is no picture in this competition that deservs such a low score.

He's ignoring us, Ian.... I suspect there are trade secrets involved. :-)

The 5 favs make it all worth while. I do love my 24-105L. Yes, it will fit on a full size sensor and I may like it even more then. If I have a problem it is I miss the 17-23 portion of my 17-40L lens. 24 on a 1.6x sensor is just not quite wide enough sometimes. I'm probably going to "rent" (ie buy) the 10-22mm sometime until I make the plunge to the 5D and then sell it again. 24mm may be wide enough on the full size sensor.

You can see how much I like the lens, pretty well every challenge I've entered since I bought it was taken with it (although I guess I don't really have any other options except the 50mm/1.8

Or you could save two steps (buying and selling the 10-22) by simply taking the plunge now and getting that 5D. You know you want to.... :-)

I'm barely at a 5.8, which normally would be better than OK, but I suspect in this one I'll be on the second to last page with that score. I don't always remember who did what, but I do remember a lot of the pictures themselves. If I get someone wrong in any comments I leave, I apologize in advance. :-)

Thanks for the awesome comment melethia. You are likely very right about things. :)

I was thinking all week that my shot may have hit top ten but I dont believe that is the case anymore. Fingers crossed for a top 20 amongst these phenomenal shots. I am hoping for a bunch of "you were robbed" comments afterwards. Thanks for all the comments and comparisons everyone. Like I said before, this is probably one of the best shots I have ever taken in my life and for it to be recognized by many of the photographers that I admire is really friggin awesome.

You're welcome, Doc. Just remember that I am not a professional photographer, nor do I play one on TV.

And bear in mind the "1" thing you mentioned earlier also works at the other end of the scale, and probably at about a 2 or 3 to 1 ratio in your favor. Just a thought... :-)

Would never have labeled you as little people Deb. Not by a long shot.
