I redid a mediocre score image, and it's still getting pretty much the same mediocre score, and the same comments :)
06/06/2006 02:50:19 PM · #77
i wonder how many people are getting comments that make suggestions to try things and then find out that those things are what they did in the orginal image? LOL
06/06/2006 02:52:58 PM · #78
Comments? What are comments? I'm sitting in that "low comment" range right now!

I don't think there was anything wrong with redoing a 6+ image if you think it could have been a 7+ image. I feel I made large strides over my last one. The score doesn't bear it up though.

I think alot of my shots that were really low scoring were primarily because the idea stunk first and the technical aspect stunk second. Why try and redo a shot with better technical aspects when the idea still stinks?

i'm with you...mine is WAY better now than the original, but the score doesn't reflect that at all...oh well.

what's a 7+ image? I looked all over my profile and couldn't find anything!! Maybe it's one of those imaginary creatures... like the Easter Bunny...

You're the last person I'd suspect of submitting just for a high score (that is meant as an UNmixed compliment, btw). And I'm not complaining, btw. It doesn't make any difference to me, especially at my current score!

went through all the pics and have voted on all. i thought they were all fantastic photos. I wasnt looking for the best photos here though i feel that there are a few that are fantastic. my disadvantage is that im so new almost everything im seeing for the first time so i was judging on the merit of the photograph and not the improvement form the origional. but yeah. there were shots in there that i can only dream of doing, i scored a fairly high average i think, though only one 10 and one 9. those two were special. but congratulations to all that entered. great work from all.

yes I agree, there were some incredible shots. Not mine, but some incredilbe ones nonetheless. 4.97 (said with a bag over my head)

A more appropriate imaginary figure for us photographers would be a Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster. ;-)

The original scored better which is ridiculous, because #2 is a way better photo.

I know I have produced a much better photo and learnt a lot since then, and I'm trying hard not to get cranky with the voters.

The thing is that when I got the idea for this shot the first time I only had a few hours to do it and didn't have any photoshop nor did I have any props! You are right, this is my only 6+ shot 6.060 and I want it to be better.

Things do a bit better now than few hours ago and I hope it will stay that way.
It is not good when you get lower score after all the improvements.

Not processing how one can "improve" a 6+ shot... sympathy drive not engaging... system failure...

I saw somebody do a take 2 on a top 20 image. I can't help but wonder if that person is just trying to get another good score instead of trying to improve. Sad. At least I tried!

well, one thing I CAN sympathize with is having no idea what the heck the voters are thinking...

Just curious, has anyone hit the 100 vote mark yet?? I'm loving my score and would really like to reach 100 votes so I can feel more comfortable that it won't be dropping to much. I'm superstitious like that. :-)

I know it's taking me awhile to vote on this one as I'm trying to find the originals for the ones that I can. Taking a bit of time I'm afraid, but am enjoying every minute of it. :)

Still sitting under 90 votes here. Any chance you will let loose on your score there Jenesis?

Again, my superstitions take hold.... but I will say it will be proudly displayed on the front page of my profile. :-) How about you Tim?

Almost a copy of your stats to boot. Hopefully my score is close to yours as well. This will be a PB for me I believe.
