Can't wait to see them!
Good luck all. |
I hate to say it, but I have this feeling that the voters are going to be pretty tough on this one - expecting the best, so anything less than wonderful may get hammered.
People seem to be getting more and more critical these days... |

A big perk in this is the fact that it is advanced editing. Being able to go back and reshoot and process a past entry that was limited with basic rules with the advanced rules was quite a treat. No matter what the scores tell me I belive that I have come out with one of the best photos I have ever taken. Surely not the best this site has ever seen but a personal triumph none the less. |

I reshot an image that was not in my top 50%. It was a pretty forgettable image according to voters. Did I improve on the original image? I don't think so - I did it differently this time, more DPC friendly, I think. |

Not entirely sure mine will do any better than the original - betting the scoring will be tougher this time 'round!
I am, however, fairly sure that my recent run of exceptionally good (for me) scores is about to come to an end with this entry. So why, you may ask, am I entering it? Because I got my socks covered with those stupid sticky seed-burr things whilst shooting, that's why! :-)

I expect this challenge will be scored pretty high. Voters are expecting "improved" shots; and, for the most part, they will not be comparing them to the original until after voting. Some people have a mindset that makes them see Advanced rules as equalling better photos. And there may be a lot of shots that were satisfying to the photog in their first incarnation but have been remade to better fit the perceived ideals of dpc voters. I'm gonna go with Digital Quixote and predict high scoring, but maybe not any 8s. Good Luck to all who entered.

Hey Deb - care for another head to head? That might give your shot the boost it needs to get the higher score if history serves consistent. lol |

Didn't that pretty much go out the window in the self-portrait challenge?
I reshot mine and don't like it any better than the first time, so this is one I'll be skipping. But "green", here I come! |

I knew exactly which one to re-shoot. Just too lazy to do the setup, ... until tonite ... half an hour ago. Last minute entry, may do worse than the original. |

I improved upon a truly embarrassing entry. Now watch it score even lower than the original ;-)

Heh, I'm pretty sure you can take me on this one, Tim. But sure, I'll go for it! Care to go head to head in the open that closes tomorrow? I'm sitting on a personal best. :-) But I'm in Beatles and if I recall you're in the other one, so that probably won't count. |

Okay, I am in. Actually wanted to take my lowest scoring entries, but could not do it due to unavoidable circumstances. The models are grown up, models not available, season is changed, props are missing. Finally I was able to sneak in one of my Middling Masses Massacre entry. |

My SLS entry is sitting just below 6.0. I thought it would be close between BeeCee and I but I went down about as much as she went up. I might be inGreen tomorrow unless I find something unexpected in the next 24 hours.
This challenge though I am looking forward to. Fingers crossed for a new PB.

And just think, some folks use odd criteria like subject matter, lighting, composition, technical quality.... weirdos. :-)

Did you used to have a different user name? (Wondering because of the Middling Masses thing...)

Good luck! I'm just hoping to beat the score I had on the original!

Having just viewed all the entries, I may have been overly optimistic. Time will tell.
Good luck all! |

I took one of my shots from 4 years ago because those are the ones I'm most able to improve :) The downside is that I don't expect anyone to be able to remember it.

My original was disqualified cuz I didn't read the rules carefully.
This was met all the rules and I responded to some comments. (So far I had more comments on the disqualified version than this version.) |

I'm extremely disappointed. I think my reshoot is a helluva lot better than my former 6.2+ score, and I'm in the 5.7 range. I just don't get it. |

Same here. My reshoot is way better, but the score is even worse.
Makes you wonder, doesn't it? |
