I'm the type who would cut off his nose to spite his face.

If we'd all buckle down a bit and refuse to accept crappy customer service, the companies which provide said crappy service would go away.

So. My thought for the day is, don't wimp out, take your money somewhere else.

Agreed. Customer service has been on a steep decline the last few years and very few things anger me more the poor customer service.

In the last two weeks I had been doing a lot of travel for work and ate at a lot of resturants across the country. The best service came from Chilli Joes in Burbank (YUMMM) and a 24 hour diner at 11pm in Stratford CT. All the much nicer, more expensive and fancier resturants I ate at had horrible service.

Ditto. Customer service is becoming extinct. Now, you're an inconvience to whoever is working and they're pissed that they have to even acknowledge your existance.

Take your money elsewhere, and if you're feeling uppity, raise some hell.

Many people/places that give crappy service do so only because their management is unaware.

If I get what I feel is crappy service to the point that I would go elsewhere, I make sure I tell a manager or someone in charge WHY I'm leaving and taking my money elsewhere. They often try to entice me to stay, but usually I'm pissed enough to leave anyway. If it's a restaurant, I will not leave a tip and tell the manager why.

I'll even go on the company's website and fill out a feedback form. I almost always get a reply from a real person. I can't imagine that a person working in customer service would be given a whole lot of second chances if complaints are coming in.

Companies don't want to provide crappy service, crappy employees do.

I'll give a company a second chance, expecially if I like their product, but if a customer service person gives me problems, I'll do my part to make sure their bosses know exactly how much business that employee has cost them.

Hey, I'd pay to watch that. :)

One company that has excellent customer service is Alien Bees. I wish more companies were like them. And no, I'm not affiliated with the company in any way.
