Since what I choose to shot obviously is not what the voters would have me shoot I thought before I go out tomorrow trying to get a last minute entry for Unexpected Find or Green...well maybe you voters would tell me what you want to see. What would get me high scores in either? :-P

I'll be happy to help:

For the "green" challenge, shoot something green.

For the unexpected challenge, none of us know what to expect, so we can't help you. And if we DID give you an idea, it wouldn't be unexpected when we saw the picture, so we'd have to score you low, right?

That gives me an idea... Maybe I'LL don some Green Panties and then I could flip a coin to decide which challenge to go for!

hmmm - you are spurring ideas......not exactly what has been mentioned her but the brain is a smokin'

maybe if I wear nothing but men's green briefs and have a "bulge" in the front of them......

Hahaha...just don't go there. The voters definitely don't want to see nudity...especially self portraits...trust me...it is getting thrown at me at the moment.

You could go out and shoot Torquemada (I don't think many people liked him anyway). Nobody would expect that.

Maybe if you took a plate of glass, sprinkled it with droplets of green water and held it so that an unexpected blue ribbon was focused in each one. That way you could go either way and capture a few wowzer scores that seem to go with the genre.

Too bad I can't enter my green entry into the unexpected find challenge. *pout* I hadn't even known about the green challenge when I took the picture. I just thought it looked interesting. Luckily, I got home and found out there was a green challenge just that morning while I was at work. Woohoo.

Newbie question: As a registered member, can I only enter in one challenge at a time? In this case, either Green or Unexpected and not both? thx

edit: what if they are two separate shots?

Even as a member you can only enter one of them. The two exclusive challenges were introduced a while back to keep the entries per challenge a little lower. So you'll have to pick. All part of the fun. Good luck! :)

Hmmm...thanks. I'm a little worried about entering a challenge with 300+ entries, but every photo should be rated on it's own merit and not versus the rest. So in theory I shouldn't worry about the number of entries and pick the one I like best. I think I like my Green over my Unexpected, but there are so many entries in Green. thx again.

You are correct on that - every photo SHOULD be rated on it's OWN merit, but that isn't always the case here. I really feel as people, some who enter have a tough time setting aside the love of their own and their desire to ribbon and they score lower than they would have they not been entered. I also feel, based on comments I have read on photos and in forums, that rather than vote a photo on it's own technical merits and appeal, they vote by comparing it to the other entries.
