I saw a small toolshed look a like place in a lawn, structured by bricks only. Inside measurements about 4 X 4 and about 7 feet tall with a roof, no door but a door opening.

I was considering this as an empty room... but I want to ask your opinion if it counts as an empty room. I am not sure if the room must be in the house, and has to have a certain dimensions.

sounds good to me. it doesn't have to be in a house

Ummm.... wah. I had this great idea, been thinking of it all week, actually. Been trying to figure out all sorts of details and just found out the "thing" I wanted to use is no longer available - my friend's husband gave it away and forgot to tell her. Wah!!!

Oh, I know. Now I'm thinking I'll have to discover the location of a thrift shop or two. That's all I need - another place to shop for props... ;)

I am amazed that we only have 51 entries in this challenge.
I don't mind, as I am very happy with my entry.
I do hope we see some more entries (re last minuite entries) before rollover.

Well just entered. I just hope people see what the one thing in the room that looks like it belongs. I wonder if putting it in the title would help?

I'm in !!! Whoo hoo. I thought I would be siting this out as my coworker decided not to model after all. I was sitting at home when a fresh idea came to me. Shot, processed, entered....now just have to wait for all those glorious tens to come in.

Well, apparently I may have been too generous. We've got almost 100 entries to go in the next 24 hours. Hate to say, "I told you so..."

The judgement on the quality is still pending.

It doesn't even have to be an empty room. As long as it looks empty to the voters, it's all that matters. I.e. what's not in the picture, is not of relevance.

Same here.....why do we have this compulsion to submit something? LOL
06/04/2006 02:39:52 PM · #191
me too, i'm expecting loads of comments saying "would have cropped some of that empty space out" :)
06/05/2006 12:25:18 AM · #192
I told you so. I'll withhold any other comments until after the challenge.

It's too late for you. You already put your foot in your mouth big time on this one.

I'll take a stab at it:

- only ~100 submissions
- update button
- challenging (more than usual)

E.g. my workflow:

came home ~23:10 challenge time
emptied room (removed ALL furniture etc.) except for one thing ~23:30
took 5-6 photos, uploaded to PC ~23:40
processed one, realized what's missing ~23:45
reshoot/upload/process ~23:55
liked it much better, but forgot to do something else.
reshoot ~23:58
upload, go to edit, photoshop complains that there isn't enough virtual memory #@$%$ restart PS, process, to submit, DPChallenge is calculating results... 00:01 DPC time...

We'll see how the second best shot does thos week.
Update...update...update.

Ahd oh, yes, I need to put the furniture back in.
06/05/2006 12:58:28 AM · #195
What's funny is that all over the world people moved furniture out of a room for no other reason that a compulsion to get a shot to enter into an online contest where one vies for comments, a good score, and maybe a virtual ribbon. :-)

LOL...and a little late for "spring cleaning"
06/05/2006 01:02:39 AM · #197
hehe, I should of used this as an excuse to just empty the WHOLE house into a truck and drive it down to the dump :-P
06/05/2006 01:02:53 AM · #198
well, what would we do all week without that update button? I didn't enter the arch. challenge, and it almost killed me to not be banging my head against the desk as my score plummeted...

Oh! Site upgrade idea! If you don't have anything in a challenge, the site randomly assigns you a picture that IS in a challenge - and it changes every time you hit the update button. Talk about wild score fluctuations.... ;)

:D that would be neat :D
