Hi all. I'm new to photography and would like opinions on these pictures.

Looking for criticism on composition, lighting, etc. I kept the pictures small for loading... maybe too small? There are 9 pics, so you can choose a couple of the worst and point out the problems, and maybe a couple of good points of the better ones. I did #7-9 with photoshop filters just because.
I kept the site simple and numbered the pictures with a short title for associating coments with pictures.

I had a quick look at your photos and thought a few were quite good. I liked local farm, Dixon Mills, and Quad subway. The sky in tracks is overexposed and the photo river lacks any interest for me. If you use photoshop, try using the shadow/highlight tool on the photograph titled Iron. You might be able to bring out far more detail in the foreground that might possibly make a far more interesting image.

ok - done some band shoots, etc. and added more galleries over the last few months.

What is your opinion on the design/layout?

I just had a quick look at the 'American Aquarium' gallery.

One thing I noticed was that the shots look far more interesting when they're actually playing their instruments. Take for example the man with the violin. In a couple he's just standing there looking bored.

My fav is the B&W group shot you've taken from above (2nd shot in the portfolio)
