Only my second time out shooting at night. Was rainy all day but the rain cooperated for hte evening. Hard as hell to get focus right.

First time out at night with the 30D too. I stumble bumbled around a bit to get mirror lockup and the built in noise reduciton bit figured out.

Here are a couple. Got a few more to work on.

Nice shots all! I especially like the top two, wonderful colors and composition. Were they taken with your 12-24?

The top two with the sigma 18-50 2.8. hard to get a sharp focus at night, as auto won't work and it's, well, DARK out there.

Perhaps a bit too colorful, but i like them Shot in RAW and the WB was done afterwards - it can be wild to see what colors you get.

The bottom one looks good in color too, but something about the b&w is appealing. THere is red no smoking sign next to the door on the shack that if this were printed 8x10 or larger might look good left red with the reaast b&w.

The bottom 3 pics are with my tamron 24-135 - this lens is great for night shots as it keeps it's focus when you zoom (most still camera lenses don't) so you can zoom in, get sharp focus and zoom out and be sure things are good.

I don't have the 12-24 yet..i want it badly...but a backup flash, CS2 and pocket wizards are on the list first...about $900 there, and pay off my camera debt.

Anyone need a kidney? I take cash and paypal LOL
