Just came from Calumet went to play with some telephoto lenses and one of the guys there told me that Tamron has a new lens that just came out and that I should check it out. Anyone know anything about this lens? are Tamrons usually good lenses? Here is a LINK.
I played with the Canon 70-200 f/4L while I was there too. Man I shouldn't have done that. That lens is tack sharp! I just wished it focused closer so it would be somewhat of a macro. Even 1:2 would be fine with me. Oh well, guess you can't have it all huh. |

| My Tamron 17-35 is as sharp as my 50mm 1.8, and streets more useful. |

It's not an SP so it's probably not going to be great. It'll probably be decent but won't compare to the Tamron 17-35 or 28-75.

That's what extension tubes are for... |

Would an extension tube work with that lens? I don't know much at all about them. What macro ratio could I achieve with one on that lens? |
