Anybody use this lens? I am going to a surfing competition Saturday and the rental company only has the Sig 50-500 left for rent. All the big glass is gone ( bastard competitiors ) I need to know if this will work on a surf competition? Anybody?
Thanx

| A good sturdy tripod, stop it down to like f/8 at 500mm, ISO 400 and you'll be OK, lots of light at the beach... |

| Some people can even hand-hold it! But I'd be concerned about the focus speed. I'm basically a landscape photographer and find the lens sharp (my major concern) but don't really know how it would hold up in action sports with the camera trying to track focus. |

for surfing I bet it'll be fine.
I found f/6.3 way too slow for my taste and style of shooting, so I returned it.
