darn!! I had it all submitted and then I read "artificial" light.. even though I used a flash light, I took it outside so it looks like natural light :(

I'm in .. first shots I played with natural light .. until it was brought to my attention that it was to be artificial lighting only .. so back to plan A .. got it done and in :)

If you guys want to get really technical with using a "single light source," think about this:

A photon is a packet of light that is released as energy, when an electron in an atom moves from an orbital of higher energy to one of lower energy.

So technically, a single light source is one eletron. Good luck with trying to find that. Basically we should all get DNMC comments.

Editted for grammer.

anyone know how to enter into both contests. I signed up as a member, but can still only enter one of the contests.

Nevermind, the pay pal thing didn't go through on the site yet, so it still has me as a registered user and not a member.

Well if you are reffering to the open challenges you can only enter one. member or not. and to me it seems you are only a registered member, and we can only enter the open challenges.

so pick your best shot and enter it.

I'm not sure which is better..my single light source or my beatles lyrics. Prolly doesn't matter, the trend is for me not to do well in either.

I just signed up as a member today, but I think pay pal takes up to 24 hours.

Astonishing (or maybe not...) the number of entries that seem to be pictures of a light source, rather than illuminated by a light source.

Well...it does say "artificial light source" but look at the last "2 second" challenge. The challenge said take a pic of EXACTLY 2 seconds. Two of the top three were not 2 second shots! I took some flak by stating they should be DQ'd. However, most members struck back saying DNMC is no reason for them to be DQ'd or to self DQ.

So now I vote on the quality of the shot...meeting the challenge is very minor to me now since the 2 sec challenge.

For example: I see some shots in the Beatles challenge that do not have a true "Beatles" song title or lyric. I voted on them as if the title was legit even though I know it is not. You will see that after the challenge those shots will have many comments of DNMC.

I had a look at the last single light source challenge and it looks like most of the top 20 are done with a clarely identifiable single source of light - indoors.
