Well, had I been a paid member, I would have submitted this to the self-portrait challenge. Unfortunately it'll be another couple months before I can afford it. :oP I'm interested to see what people think about it though, because I think its the first photo I've taken of myself that I actually like. I had climbed a tree and shot the photo of myself at arm's length. Any comments? :o)

too much gaussian for me...overlay mode?
I don't know exactly how you processed it but its a little overdone for my taste. I like the clarity and the overall feeling of the picture but in my opinion the processing takes away from that.

I didn't use any gaussian....diffuse glow, perhaps? |

You are welcome, thanks for letting us see the shot. I am fairly new to photography and so basically go with my emotions and if something is pleasing to me I appreciate it for what it is and this one had a very positive impact. Loved the eyes! |

Thanks again. I am fairly new as well. :o) And I'm glad the eyes stood out...that's what I was hoping would be the focus. |

I like the photo, but because of the "glow" it probably would not have scored well. DPCers in general like their photos to look like photos. |

Yeah, maybe not have done well in the challenge but, this would probably go into my favorites. I think it is amazing - I love the colors... how the eyes match the headband, and the green goes so well with the shirt...
Great job :-D! |

Now that I look at it again, I really like the tilt of the head. It's maybe an unusual angle for a portrait, but for some reason it just really works for me. |

Wow! I love this photo!
I like the super soft effect, it seems like fairylandish and dreamy to me, especially in the tree and with the vibrant colors, and the perspective. You are absolutely gorgeous as well, yes, the eyes, lovely, the expression, everything, I think I would have given it a 10.
(Of course, I'm a painter, and I would have to agree that DPC would have probably scored it pretty low) |

Well, thanks amandalore! Very flattering indeed. :o) I rather liked the surreal feeling myself, I have long studied fairy lore and legend and I was happy I was able to convey some of that feeling and imagery. |

In my opinion, this is a very good image, but not a good photography for "DPCers" . People here are looking for more "sharp realism".
Nice image though. ! |

Same difference...gaussian overlay and soft light modes give a diffused glow. Doesn't matter how you get there, I was just giving you the opinion that you "got there" too much. |
