How do I change to the default user profile, or any profile for that matter?

I don't think it has user profiles. There may be an extention though.

What do you want to change specifically and what version of FF are you using?

The other day a window popped up and asked if I wanted to stay with the default user, or make another profile.

I clicked default and then a window came up saying, default already in use.

So, I started another profile, un-beknowst to me, (but makes sense), all of my favorites are gone now.

I have looked everywhere, I can not find the user profile button.

I hate computers as much as I hate my career.

Click Help and then About Firefox. the version number should be there.

Select HELP then ABOUT to check version (unless of course you are asking this question for someone else).

Profiles are not hard to change or delete. Once in the options, delete one or change another. But knowing your version would help as the way to get there has changed over the version changes.

While you are messing with Firefox you should upgrade to version 1.5.

found the 'favorites' in a MS Explorer format for Firfox, but can't figure out the profile thing.

I also found this page on How to Manage Profiles. I don't think you want to manage profiles; all you need to do is delete the one you created accidentally and get back to your default profile.
