I once saw this light setup for a common Studio Photograph taken of a say Glass with ice cubes.
Soft box was directly over the Glass with two black reflector on the side. Purpose of reflector was to give the black outline to glass.
Tried many times getting many black papers and putting them on thermocol to make a reflector but some how they are not able to to what i have in mind. |

Yup. Black velvet.
Absorbs light really efficiently. |

I dont want to absorb light but reflect so that edges of glasses have a black out line |

Oh, and for what it's worth. Black doesn't reflect anything. It, in fact, absorbs.
The more light the material absorbs, the more black it looks. For one, white paper reflects most of the light, thus, it looks white. Instead of black.

Well i suppose my inexperience in lighting is being reflected .
In this setup i mentioned my BG would be white not black , if you think velvet is still, i might give it shot |

The velvet will be fine with white BG.
I've used this setup a few times in a light tent. Works quite well. |
