Thom Hogans "COMPLETE GUIDE TO THE NIKON D200" is out. Got my copy of the e-book yesterday. 732 pages of knowledge! If it is half as good as his D70 guide was, I will have gotten more than my moneys worth. If you are not familiar with Thom Hogan check out his web site bythom.com.

Yep, I bought it when he first started taking orders (got it several weeks ago). Much easier to understand than the factory manual, and lots of useful tips as well. I had the D70 guide for that camera, so the impact of the D200 is less (there are lots of similarities both in the cameras and in the books) but still worth every penny.

Sweet! Now all I have to do is save up for a D200.... or a D70 for that matter.

What does this guide have that the instruction manual doesn't?

I wonder how it compares to this forthcoming book.

Much, much more information presented in a easy to understand format.

Tips, tricks, comparisons, spread sheets... etc.

Can't tell you about this exact book, but Thom Hogan's D70 guide had much more thorough coverage than the Magic Lantern D70 guide. Of course the Magic Lantern guide is printed, which is generally an advantage.

Thanks, good to know. Yeah, it is kind of an advantage. I got the D100 guide, but unfortunately never really got as much out of it as I could have.
