Getty Images are slowly but steadily swallowing up and taking over rival photo agencies, and I'm seeing loads of marketing projects aimed at increasing the average person's awareness of their brand. I remember recently a website by Getty using their photos which encouraged the public to discuss global issues.
I'm slightly against Getty because I spent a while chasing the opportunity to work for them as a stringer, but they were only really interested in me if I could supply paparazzi shots. They were pretty ruthless in the way they did business. I'm working for FilmMagic/WireImage now instead.
