Nah, I don't concern myself with stuff like that really.

I generally stay away from the cutting edge ;-) I am happy that the price of 20D's is dropping now :-)

I do mainly because I really wanted to 30D to be 10MP. I'll probably bite the bullet and get a 5D sooner or later.

The 20D was a big jump over the 300D, for me. Are you planning on upgrading soon? The #1 reason I upgraded was because the 300D was SOOO slow writing to the CF card. I would be in the middle of shooting and have to stop and wait while the camera caught up. The 300D still is a great camera...I kept it as my backup :)

The updated Rebel will be announced in August if Canon stays true to form. I need to update my camera ... ultimately want a full frame sensor ... so until then, i'll be looking hard at XT upgrade.

This is what Canon needs to come up with to make me SO happy:
10mp
Built in battery grip
More AF points. (Maybe not 45 like the Mark's....but maybe 20)
Spot metering
2.5in LCD

I felt that way with the rebel...even right after I got it....but since I got the 20D I'm pretty content. The main thing I wanted was something faster (the rebel was slow!) and the 20D gives me that. Did I 'need' it? Nah...but I wanted it :)

The latest thing from Canon? Well, in the newspaper this morning (Yomiuri Shimbun) was a full-page ad for their latest awesome-looking ... printer. It prints VERY LARGE posters.

I think that the EOS 1Ds Mk II is the oldest among their current model line-up, so maybe that's where the next new one will come.

I need to invest a bit more in glass first, but yes a 20D is on my list.

Better glass made just as big of a difference as the new body did. I always thought I was doing something wrong when my pics were not coming out tack sharp. L glass has helped that problem IMMENSELY!!

Yup, I'll take quality glass over the latest greatest body any day. Always have. That and I'm more of a price vs performance shopper than one who has to have "the best".

I'm lazy and I don't like to work hard just to have the best of equipment... LOL. Besides, most of my clients very seldomly want prints larger than 8x10's.

LOL!!!

I have to start saving for the next camera. I hope I can make some decent dollars in the coming months/year. My lenses should do me for a while. Heck, even my camera will do me. :)

edit: that kinda sounds bad......setting myself up for some jokes there.

Don't set me up like that, you know I'm incorrigible.

Oh my goodness.

I was at the Navy Exchange today.......

....and they had the 30d and the 5d. (Surprises me because they usually only have the XT and a ton of P&S's)

That HUGE LCD makes such a big difference. Wow. I was truly taken by how pretty it was! I want one..LOL
