(Note: I say this as a matter of fact thing, a what's so of the situation from my point of view. It's not my intent to get folks riled up.)

Our friend, ShutterPug, was on a probation from a past incident. Something happened today that had the powers that be decide that she broke her probation, part of which it seems is related to the link that Dan posted.

Several of us have inquired of the SC the reasoning of it, but it's unclear still, only that it's "based on our investigation of many recent threads" and that they are in communication with her about the suspension.

The last I spoke with her, she felt left in the dark as she hadn't gotten any feedback from the SC about the request she sent asking what part of her probation she broke. Linda is quite upset as she has no idea what she did wrong. If the suspension stands, I doubt we'll see Linda participate on DPC again.

Again, I say this as a matter of fact thing, a what's so of the situation from my point of view. It's not my intent to get folks riled up.

I will miss her if she goes. I hope that we will see her back here posting soon. If you'd like to contact Linda, she would like that very much. You can PM her or use the addy in her profile or see her in various online locales.

I missed all the fun as well. Read the entire referenced thread and am still lost. All I know is that there is a village to burn somewhere. There always is.

:)

Sounds like pugges got caught up with a repeat offender and now they are both gone but I believe puggers will be back.

That was a "controlled burn" - just meant to instill fear. No offense intended. :)

I think it kinda had to do with this locked thread as well.

And as long as we're in the DPC knitting circle :0P has there been any Admin Announcement about blemt that I've missed? She appears to be blue!

Read the referenced thread and the one in Web Site Suggestions (link) that seems to have been the catalyst for the latest boiling -- but I'm still at a loss. :(

I can say with great conviction that the threads yesterday were just the final flash in the pan. The wheels on everything started over the weekend. I've pointed out to folks before that the forum rules now include a "we don't care who threw the first punch clause". Everyone has a responsibility to keep things fun here. It's just too hard to play the he said, she said, they said game.

The lesson here is, if SC tells you something- listen. They ain't just whistling Dixie. :)

Making decisions to ban users from any area of the site is never easy. SC really does not like that part of the job. So it's not like this was an instant or easy decision. Respect just how stressful and hard things like this are on em.

As for me, I've got some things going right now that need my attention. No biggie. :)

Geesh... looks like I missed the fun again

I for one Clara will miss you as SC... I know that the decision to resign SC was a very difficult one for you to make and support your decision.

Man see what happens when I take a nap. I miss all the good stuff. FINALLY S/C and thanks.

(above is NOT in reference to pug)

Well I will miss pugsly too, hope its sorted out for her...
05/25/2006 08:53:03 AM · #24
She will be missed around here for sure. Clara, thank you for all your time and hard work spent on S/C. Sorry to see you leave, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Best of luck.

BTW: Let's not start the gratuitous nominations thing again. When they're ready for them, they'll ask.

Congrats to the SC for taking action on this.

It's nice to see that you guys are taking care of business by doing this kind of job for the greater good of the DPC community. Thanks for taking the time to screen out those who, by intention or just by spillage of their "personality" into cyberspace, have a tendency to make things edgy and vindictive around here.

Power to ya!
