On my quest for a cool telephoto lens for my S2 i ran into a pair of these lenses. One is wide the other is telephoto. I finaly got in a set of step rings to adapt them to fit my camera. Ive always wondered about these lenses with that little bubble in the center but now that ive used it, it seems to be a weird kind of an effect or somthing. What do you think?

The first image is of the lens, you can see the little center bubble thing, second is half zoom, third is full zoom.

Your not going to like the honest truth... You have outgrown your point and shoot. You want it to do things that only a DSLR can do with results that are adequit. I wouldn't spend a nickel on any more accesories for your camera. Start saving or just buy a DSLR. The telephoto results will be 100x better w/ an actual telephoto lens.

There are plenty of threads on what to buy, or just ask.

What Jmnuggy said. Time to move on up.

Even the very best quality wide angle and telephoto adapters degrade image quality. Get a dSLR ;-)

...and get a D70 or 200D or Canon equal.

Many, many, many non-slr cameras produce images as good and better than my D70. However, if you want to experiment with "long" lenses you should move up! Other than that, your cam is quite good.

Those add-on lenses are always less than expected. If you get one that doesn't give huge distortion, then the image quality is a little blurry.

Yep, either leave them off, get another P&S with a wider range, or go for a dSLR when you can. The S3-IS looks pretty sweet, but the range is the same.

I'm not really sure that you NEED greater than 432mm, but I do understant wanting better than 36mm wide.

Well i broke down and got the canon telephoto and i must say it is one sweet lens.

I havnt decided yet if i want to paint it. It has a funky shapy that wouldnt look to good painted.
