I like the uncluttered layout, but I would think an eye grabbing image on the home page would be a help to draw people in.

hey troy, like your pics, lol that first baby pic is great, and I also love the baseball little leauge shot. On your website..... not sure when I enter it may be plain to others alot of black there on your page also something someone told me when I designed my site on smugmug that with your header being that big alot of people have to scroll down and los of people dont like doing that. There is alot of unsued space above your header.
Your models shots are great by the way really really nice, love your engagement shots also.

The site changes look great, Troy. Its much more dynamic now. I am trying to switch over to SmugMug, have my site built, but its dead boring. All the zillions of pages of customization tutorials are a little intimidating too. Any tips you can share about how you built it? Specifically the Home page and Nav bar. I'm quite html challenged.
here is my page wanna-be: Penrod Studios - SmugMug site

Hey Cindi this is the code I used for my NavBar not sure what Troy used
This goes n your header section in your controlpanel/customization and just replace the 0's with your gallery number and then where you see namehere just put whatever you want to call that gallery
I am also quite html challenged but lots of people at dgrin helped me out
and this goes in your CSS box
/*Navbar*/
#menu2 ul
{
margin: 0;
padding: 20px 0 0 0;
list-style-type: none;
text-align: center;
}
#menu2 ul li { display: inline; }
#menu2 ul li a {
text-decoration: none;
font-size: 1.062em;
padding: 0.0em 1.1em;
color: #CCC;
}
#menu2 ul li a:hover
{
color: #484848;
}
/*End Navbar*/

The site is looking nice, there are some great photos on there. Personally, I think the current font looks a little, well.. cheap. It would make me as a customer think twice about getting you to shoot my event. I know that seems harsh, but first impressions are important, and it gives me an amature first one.
edit to say: the font would look great if it was solid and not all textury.

thanks guys sooo much,
i want to add a bio but i have no idea how to write a bio about myself, i dont know where to start or to end,
i feel it would help my customers better understand who they are hiring, and get a picture of me up there, because when i meet a customer for the first time they are expecting someone older looking and i cant tell a bit of a shock in there faces,
