| I have the 50mm 1.8, and the 18-55mm kit lens. I'm getting a telephoto soon and then I'm going to need a wide angle to replace the kit lens. What are some good wide angle lenses that I should start researching and reading about? I don't believe I need 10mm or anything. Just something better than the kit lens to replace the kit lens. Thanks for any help. |

| Oh yeah, I have a fairly tight budget. So the 17-40L isn't really an option unfortunately. |

I can't help but be partial to the tokina 12-24 f4 and can be had for about 500 bucks. I shoot with it all the time and get awesome shots with it that have very little distortion even at 12mm. Librodos current ribbon winner was shot with this lens and plenty of other great ones have been seen on this site.

| I've heard conflicting reports on this in the past, but how does the Sigma 10-20 and the Tokina 12-24 work on non-EF-S mounts like my 10D? |

for crop factors SLR sigma 10-20 or tokina 12-24 or sigma 12-24 or the best canon 10-22mm all works so fine and cool. if upgrading to FF then think of 16-35 or 17-40. I have 24-70 which can be nearly as 16-35 on 1.6 bodies.
I got sigma 12-24 and it is really very good lens, just i feel that Canon still the best lenses over other third party lenses. |
