Ok,
I have a friend who said to me the other day, "hey Robert, you have a nice camera now and you are getting started in photography. Can you take me some pics for a magazine article I am writing about Shiloh National Park"
So, I told him that I would try and get some shots. He asked for several particular shots and I got those for him. However, I have little confidence currently in my ability to take even the most basic shots. I am still learning.
So, with that, can you all give me some honest criticism on the following shots. They aren't very dramatic, but I wasn't really trying for that since these are for a standard history magazine. What could I have done differently in my shooting settings and in post production?
I appreciate all the feedback and help I get from this site.

I think overall you did a very good job. I too am a beginner but just going out and shooting it the best way to learn. With regards to the one with the really dramtic sky, here is what I would have done. You should set your camera up on a tripod and compose the image. Then you should take several exposure tell you get the sky nice and dramatic (or however you want it) and then take several more till you get the bottom half of the image to how you want it. Then combine the best to exposure so that both the sky and the bottom are well exposed. In proccessing the other two I don't think a bump in either contrast or saturation would hurt either. Hope this helps.
