Also add in a flashlight, copy of Photographer's Rights.pdf, notebook, cell phone, water bottle, and a few more various things from time to time...
Very misleading name...mini trekker. heh

You may have seen this movie before - he looks like he fit most of the Canon stuff at B&H into one of those bags :-) |

I can't stand to watch that movie again....the guy has no regard for expensive camera gear. I just want to smack him for handling lenses so carelessly.

... and that's just on the inside. The outside pocket is fairly large and can hold quite a bit of 'stuff' as well. |

yeah the outside pocket could easily hold another lens and a d2x-sized body...although I'd probably put that *inside* and throw something cheaper outside.

We've been throug all this before.
And Pshizzy found the last thread and replied to it also.
He knows his equipments limits, and treats it like that because it can take it. For him, his stuff is like a work truck, not the priceless artifacts that we pretend our equipment are.
He probably gets enough off of just one of his photos to replace a good portion of that bag. He's more worried about getting a shot than making sure all his stuff is scratch free.

It's how you remotely fire your flashes...
You can hook them up to full-power strobes, or I think you can even hook them up to speedlights and so on...the master goes on your camera, and your strobes go in various positions...like at the ends of a basketball court or whatever...
it's basically the best way to shoot strobes at a distance with great accuracy.

Shutterpug: Seriously, have you seen the camera equipment at any major sporting event? The stuff is to use, and being in a bag (even mine) is the least of my worries when you're actually using the equipment in a professional environment.
Lenses get dropped, thrown from you, blood gets on them, people knock them over, and people can land on you and your gear. . . and I'm just talking about this last week of games. . . start including baseball, where the ball can crack your front element, or beach front sports, where SEA salt can mess up your lens coating (oh and if you got a big lens, there is no filter for a 400 2.8). Motorcross? Dirt and dust everywhere, anyone?
I've had 1 lens, 0 cameras in for a repair in 2 plus years of ownership, after the lens was in a CAR ACCIDENT. guess what, these lenses are well built. On top of that, I'm insured. Are you? If you're not, may I mention wanting to smack you?
Find out the situation before you talk, please.
Ecce Signum: No sense of worth? A camera is a piece of equipment, not a sentimental object. They are easy to replace, easier to fix, but honestly, they are much hardier than one suspects. Stuffing them into a bag hasn't damaged them, and trust me on this . . the paint job DOESN'T affect the camera's image taking..
wavelength: Ya, always fun to find these threads. My problem is that people never take the time to find out who I am before they talk smack. No I don't make enough to replace my gear off one photo, I take better care of it than most people would ever suspect.
Understanding the limits of your equipment is important. I know what my camera and lenses can and can't handle. Just for some perspective, Canon and Nikon professional gear are used for WAR photography. I'm guessing they have more things to worry about than how they pack their bag....

Yes, but you could get a better bag :) |

Not really. That one is compact enough to fit under the seat of most airlines, leaving me an overhead piece for my 400 and clothing.
I can travel to most destinations without needing to check in anything. That itself is super useful.

Does that bag have a strap for a second normal sized tripod on the other side? I should get one of those, it'd make carrying my stuff to shoot the sports I do a lot simpler, plus I'm guessing it would fit two Sunpak 555's and a Sigma 500 along with the pocket wizards when I get them :) |

The straps on the back are adjustable, very adjustable, you should be able to carry a reasonably sized tripod on it. Anything really large, like a video tripod, might require its own bag.

Yes - all of my equipment is insured. I realize the equipment you have is well built - but I still find it shocking to see anyone handle such expensive gear with so little regard - practically tossing them out of the bag. Sorry - but I have always tried to be careful with anythig of value. The smack was said more tongue in cheek as I wouldnt really smack anyone for being careless with their gear. I just wouldn't ever allow anyone who handled gear like that to ever touch my camera or lenses.

The best part of that video is when he says "Leatherman...in case you need to stab someone" and just continues on. |

Don't worry PShizzy, some of us aspire to cramming out gear into small spaces. :-)
My lowerpro nova 5 holds 2 bodies, 2 flashes, 5 lenses, a 1.4x, and lots of other misc junk.
They are just tools, albeit expensive ones. When you're on the sideline gear care and grooming goes out the door.
Cheers, Me. (Amused that people find that video so difficult to deal with)
