I dont know if any of you have had this problem its with the nikon d70 the early model apparently there is a fault with in the camera and the whole camrea just shuts down its a common fault with the model and nikon will fix it even if the warrenty is out. |

FleaNZ and Mark Richards both have D70 that we have upgraded to the D70s via Nikon's firmware upgrade.
I don't know if it would fix your issue, but it does make some very significant differences to the camera. You download the upgrade from the web, copy it to a memory card, plug it in the camera and upgrade from the menu

Tracey i had the same problem but not as bad as you i wasnt going anywhere too shoot so i just took it too the camera shop and nikon replaced it free of charge ..lucky me .
