I've been collecting studio kit for about 3 years now, so I'm loaded for bear. Sounds like you're making a nice start on some good studio kit as well! (btw - I found a 5-in-one 40X60 reflector/diffuser on ebay last week for $41) :)

I'm a huge fan of people photography, but trying capture a decent image every day will force me to break through barriers in how I capture images. I would love to give this a try. link

Ooh. I should try again to order one. Last time I tried (during the self-portrait challenge, bien sur!) they were out of stock in the size I need.

I need to start a list of shots I want to do for this one, like I had for the SP's. Was SO helpful to have a list to fall back on when I felt uncreative.

I have my beloved SB-600 flash. I have a piece of white mat board that I rubberband to said flash, to use as a cheapo reflector. I have one white ceiling (not too much of a help, as it's in my cluttered and narrow kitchen) and a white sheet that I tack to my other non-white ceilings for bounce flash. I do have some white muslin, and some Rit dye, and I hope before the challenge starts to have made a couple of backdrops out of those via the spritz-bottle method.

In other words, aside from the camera and flash, I have a total redneck setup. Fitting, since I am descended from a long, long line of people with actual veritable red necks, and I know more about building fence than I do about painting my nails, myself. :)

I'm really looking forward to this. It'll give me the shove I need to get some portraits done that I've been meaning to do for ages.

So far I have nabbed two backdrops, a lightsphere, a horizontal boom.. heh for stock... a 43" 5 in 1 reflector and a flash... for now.

So, as we anticipate our start up in two weeks, perhaps a brief excersise to whet our appetites and break the ice.... for those of us who have ice to break. What say we ante up by taking a candid and a portrait in the next week and post them here just as a shake out the bugs excercise.

I'm sorry, I forgot to reply in this thread. I won't participate in this challenge. Maybe next time! I still need a break of the last 30 days challenge, lol. Next Monday I'll start with a new challenge with some members of a Dutch photography forum, 10 photos in a month with different subjects.
