I've had numerous requests about how I managed to do the light rays for this image:
Since this challenge had no editing restrictions, I was able to create elements that would be illegal even for Advanced Editing. Trust me, I tried it and got a DQ ;)
So, instead of posting it (since it would be of limited use but would be uber cool), if anyone is interested in learning it, just PM me your email address and I can send you a PDF version of the tutorial.
Thanks.

BTW, this is the same technique I used during The Gauntlet ran by Palmetto_Pixels.
The original image was provided by oOWonderBreadOo:
And within a week, these were the results of this no-holds barred PS Challenge.

You can do amazing things with PS! If I had photoshop, I'd ask for this, but, alas, I don't. If I ever get it, I'd love to learn some of the things you know. |

This had no post processing on the light rays per se but I wonder how much better it could be with Rikki's technique.
(About to PM Rikki for the pdf - have to learn this stuff!) |

Sent you a PM Rikki... those entries you submitted in the Gauntlet were stunning and you earned a well-deserved victory in that battle.

Hey guys-
I hope the tutorial makes sense. i tried to simplify it as much as i could without all the PS mumbo jumbo ;) As I've mentioned in the opening paragraph of the tutorial, this is NOT legal even in advanced editing (see OP). However, it makes for cool creative images just for portfolio use ;) If there is anything in the write up that you aren't clear about, just let me know. You guys have my email address ;)
I am planning of creating another tutorial if there is interest on how I edit landscapes as well ;) I know there were many inquiries on my "elemental" shot ;)
Just let me know.
Cheers,
Rikki
