Would "Failure" be the one where we deliberately compete for the brown? The biggest loser wins? ;-)

can I submit a DNMC photo for "failure" ?
does that makes the photo meet the challenge after all? |

Would it be okay for someone to use the same photo in the "Self Portrait" and "Failure" challenge? Not me of course. I'm asking for a friend.

No, I'm pretty sure that's in the rules somewhere.
Edit to add: This is from the editing rules:
A photograph may only be used in one challenge, even if it is cropped or altered differently to fit another challenge. Duplicate photos will be disqualified.

The rules say you can't use the same shot twice.
Sometimes challenges say relatively simple and unambiguous things, too. Nevertheless voters and photographers of dpc demonstrate a great divergence of criteria. My guess is we'll see about 90% of entries with cartoon like story-lines. For once I think that may be justified. |

Thought we ought to revive this thread in light of the recent discussions concerning lack of pre-voting/pre-entering challenge information.
Some quotes to get us started:
"She knows there̢۪s no success like failure
And that failure̢۪s no success at all." --Bob Dylan
"I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure—which is: Try to please everybody." --Herbert Swope
"Success is failure turned inside out—
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt—" --Edgar A. Guest |

Well, if you don't pull it off, that would be a great idea for failure too, no? ;) |

I am still trying to figure out how to get a self portrait into the success challenge and fail doing it - should get extra points for linking them together right :-) |

Got my props yesterday! Have what I think is a fantastic idea for both success and/or failure with the same props! If I can get the shot I want for success, it will go there. BUT, I can also arrange it so it is a great failure challenge as well if I can't get off the shot I want for success. So either way, I am golden! :) |

Looks like team "Success" is leading at this point. Is it because, looser are last minute entrants? Needless to mention I am one of them. LOL |

Is this one of those threads where we are supposed to clear the air about what a success and a failure really is? (like we didn't do for the other three challenges that everyone is complaining about).
I think I have a great idea for success..except I have a feeling several other people are going to use the same idea. |
