Of course, before it begins, we must thourougly define it. Because as we all know:
"...it depends on what the meaning of the word is is."
Therefore:
The meaning of the word is is....
Be prepared to argue both for and against your meaning and back it up with examples of what is is and what is isn't and how you will push the boundries of what is is and what is isn't. Is that clear or isn't it?

It is written that "god" said, "I am."
Since that has not satisfied most of us, I offer the popular, "I think, therefore, I am."
Note that both are simple statements. Neither are questions. |

To be or not to be, that is (or isn't as the case may be) the question. Defend your logic, what isn't is?

See it, in proof; Behold the proof!
“I’am eight times thrust through the doublet, four through the hose; my buckler cut through and through; my sword backed like a handsaw—ecce signum!Ӊ€”Shakespeare: 1 Henry IV., ii. 4.
I prefer 42 or maybe even 43-1 ;)

| Wait so what your saying is that is isn't is unless it is. In which case isn't is, it is. |

I don't know what the meaning of most things, including words, might be,
and my interests in the things themselves is much greater
than any affinity for some sort of symbolistic exercise I could muster. Defining words
is another popular futility in the West that tends to go
from the specific to the general until the original has been successfully copied
into a template engaging neither a mind nor requiring any effort.
What I do know is that, unlike the ancient Egyptians,
we can do better than place a sun in the sky. We can move it, too. We do,
we create, we even muscle a sun when we will. "Is" is the axle, the hub, where the earth turns,
where all the heat is drawn and distributed. By being-like-doing we take advantage of what exists, and by doing-like-being
use what does not exist.
Lao Tzu wrote a really good poem about this.

To qualify for the challenge, you must punctuate the following into grammatical English:
"That that is is that that is not is not is not that it it is"
