Actually, I kinda like the light switch in the shot. It's like I need to turn off the lights but there's this vampire in the way! :P

you wouldnt want to remove it but u could alter it and make it look different, right? thats what happened with my first DQ cause i really didnt understand PS and the rules but now i thought i understood..but lessons learned and now i know more. trust me if i was trying to cheat i wouldve done it with a better entry :)

Nope, no thoughts of cheating.
Very few dq's are a result of blatant cheating, actually. Most of them are honest mistakes, or as in this case, misinterpretation. |

ok, thats what it sounded like to me. but glad we got that cleared up. i just hate having a DQ.

"Trying to cheat" actually is a pretty funny concept. Think about it.
Q: Why did you cheat?
A: To make the picture better. So it would score better.
Q: Why does that matter?
A: I want a ribbon.
Q: Are you aware the top 5 images in every challenge are automatically validated by SC and will be DQ'd if the editing rules were broken?
A: Ummmm....
Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it? I don't think any one of us here would dream of pointing a finger at you, Queen and saying "Oh! You Bad! You Evil!" Junk happens all the time, gotta move on. Some great names in DPC have suffered the fate you just did.
I'm in the SC's camp on this one, BTW: if ever there's been a good, clean example of "removal of major elements", I'd say this is one. Think of yourself has having just "taken one for the team"; it hurts, but your sacrifice was not in vain, as this provides a lovely example to help illustrate the rule :-)
