My prediction:
115 cowboy shots
25 Icelandic fishermen (also happen to be the top 25 photos in the challenge)
54 flowers (many rating highly despite not meeting challenge)
43 babies/children (see above ^) |
Ah, going down to harbour right away, maybe finally I can beet my previous top mark being 19th;-) |

In seeing your portfolio as of recent, and viewing your 30-day self portrait pics as well as others, I have to say you have been an inspiration and influence for me in doing this challenge as well as another. It will be interesting to see how we both fair in the final outcome. I'm as excited as you are. :)

If you are seeing 30-day self-portrait pics, it must be my evil twin. I haven't been doing them... ;) |

Oh, I'm sorry. Right guy, wrong message. I meant Art_Roflmao with the above message. What I wanted to say about your pics was your oceanic pics are most inspiring and influential to me, and your image grain entry as well as your "frozen in time" photo are a few of my fav's, and have been an inspiration to me as well. Forgive me for the faux pax. It's been a long day of processing, but I am very excited about this challenge. Good luck to you!

Actually Rikki, we never told you. They separated us at birth, but you are, in fact, the evil one. |

Well, no, not the exact same thing; however, you can do a candid in this challenge if it fits the theme well enough and get away with it I would imagine. |

Yeah, the idea is to have the person in an environment that says something about them... so could be candid, or could be staged/set.

... have the person subject...
Doesn't have to be a person. ;^) |

Originally posted by coolhar: Neither the challenge details nor the definition of the word portrait demand that the subject be a person; and several posters here have said they would not lower a score if the subject is not a person. However most people interpret "portrait" to be a shot of a person. And most of the voters will be thinking that way, regardless of whether or not they have seen this thread. Why would anyone want to handicap their score from the get-go by entering something they should know will be scored lower by some, perhaps most, of the voters? |
All I have to say is "Ribbit". |

True! The description says to have the SUBJECT in their environment, yet somehow I don't think a squirrel in a tree will score very well... just a guess, hell, I don't know jack about DPC voting... my scores prove that! :P

We shall see just who can wiggle their butt better!! :)
No, really, in all seriousness, you have a very good rep for the challenges idnic, so my best to you, but I am just very happy about my shot as well. At least in my own opinion, it is one of my better entries to date. I hope it is for others, but one never knows. :) Usually the ones I love the most are the browners ..lol.
